Cupping Therapy

Cupping Massage is a widely used technique developed to stimulate toxins in the deeper tissues of the body through the bloodstream. This helps the body eliminate waste more efficiently, resulting in overall relaxation and relief from pain and cramps. Cupping has a profound effect that positively influences the natural functioning of the body’s cells, oxygen utilization, and carbon dioxide release. When the body’s energy becomes blocked, cells function less efficiently, and toxins accumulate.

Similar to Tui Na massage (acupressure), Cupping also stimulates the movement of energy in the meridians. The cups suctioned to the skin stimulate energy and blood flow, resulting in a strong blood flow immediately beneath the cups. Moving the cups across the body achieves a deep and powerful effect. Pain during the procedure indicates a blockage in energy and blood flow, preventing the body from efficiently breaking down toxins in muscles and joints, which can cause further blockages and discomfort. Cupping massage helps the body restore these processes.

During the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, some American athletes, including Michael Phelps, a 19-time gold medalist, used Cupping to accelerate muscle recovery after exertion. Cupping massage is often employed in cellulite and weight loss treatments. Cups are placed on various parts of the body to stimulate the elimination of moisture and localized fat from fat cells, strengthening muscles and skin locally.

Indications for Cupping treatment include: Fibromyalgia, headaches and neck pain, back and shoulder pain, rapid recovery from muscle injuries and physical exertion after sports activities, chronic colds and asthma, early-stage coughs and flu, chronic fatigue, stress, mental and/or physical overload. The cost of the treatment ranges between 25 and 35.00€, with a maximum duration of 45 minutes.
